Managing Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Support & Rehabilitation — Southsea & Hayling Island
Specialist one-to-one pelvic organ prolapse support in Southsea, Portsmouth and Hayling Island.
Women’s Health Treatment, Rehabilitation & Support
As a Level 6 Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist and Women’s Health Therapist, I offer calm, non-judgmental one-to-one care combining hands-on treatment, movement rehabilitation, education and lifestyle support. My approach looks at how your breathing, abdominal wall, pelvic floor, posture, movement habits, strength and load tolerance may be influencing your symptoms.
Together, we work progressively to help you understand what is happening in your body, feel more confident in how you move, reduce unnecessary strain on your pelvic floor, and gradually build the strength, capacity and practical strategies that support you in everyday life.

Your Managing Pelvic Organ Prolapse Programme
The Managing Pelvic Organ Prolapse Programme is a progressive series of four one-to-one sessions, with the option to add two further progression sessions if you would like to continue building both resilience in your body and confidence in your understanding of how to manage your prolapse symptoms.
The programme gives us a clear pathway to work from while allowing each session to be adapted around your symptoms, your lifestyle and your personal goals.
The aim is to help you feel less fearful of your symptoms and less focused on what your body can’t do, while building confidence in what your body can do.
Before We Begin – Laying the Foundations
Before we begin the programme together, you’ll receive my Laying the Foundations guide, covering some of the wider factors that can influence prolapse symptoms and long-term pelvic health. This includes:
- nutrition and healthy bowel function
- constipation, toileting position and reducing unnecessary straining
- breathing and intra-abdominal pressure management
- walking and everyday movement
- sleep, stress and nervous-system health
- menopause and hormonal health
- vaginal and vulval tissue health
- vaginal oestrogen
- the emotional and psychological impact of living with prolapse
The aim is to give you a clearer understanding of the things you can influence day to day, before we begin building on them through the practical work in your sessions.
Session 1 – Assessment, Breath, Pressure & Bodywork
Your first session combines assessment and treatment, looking at how your breath, abdominal wall and pelvic floor are working together to manage pressure.
Hands-on treatment may also address the abdomen, hips and adductors, helping to reduce unnecessary tension and improve comfort, mobility and awareness through the pelvic region.
Session 2 – 360° Breath & Mobility
We focus on optimising breathing function through breath-led mobility exercises, encouraging a fuller 360° breath and better movement through the ribcage, abdomen and pelvis.
Effective pressure management is one of the key foundations for managing prolapse symptoms, helping reduce unnecessary downward pressure on the pelvic floor.
Session 3 – Deep Core Integration & Building Resilience
We begin integrating your breath, pelvic floor and deep core, helping these systems work together more effectively as movement and load increase.
The aim is to improve coordination, build confidence and begin developing greater resilience for everyday activity without unnecessarily increasing pressure on the pelvic floor.
Session 4 – Deep Core, Pelvic Bowl & Strong Hips
We build on your deep-core work by exploring the mutually supportive relationship between the pelvic bowl and the outer hips, and how these closely connected areas influence one another.
The aim is to gently build mobility, confidence and load tolerance through the pelvis, so everyday movement and exercise can begin to feel more manageable and less daunting.
Optional Two-Session Progression Pack
If you would like to continue beyond the four core sessions, the programme can be extended with two further sessions to deepen your understanding and gradually build more confidence with everyday strength, movement and load tolerance.
Session 5 – Upper Body & Deep Core
We progress upper-body strength while continuing to integrate breath, pressure management and deep-core support.
Session 6 – Lower Body & Deep Core
We progress lower-body strength and load tolerance while continuing to integrate the pelvic floor and deep core.

Clinically Trained Practitioner
I hold a Level 6 degree-level qualification in Advanced Clinical Massage, with specialist training in the assessment and treatment of persistent pain, alongside many years of clinical practice. 3. Women’s Core & Pelvic Health Rehabilitation
I have undertaken specialist women’s health training with both Holistic Core Restore® and Core Exercise Solutions, with a focus on women-specific core and pelvic-floor health and rehabilitation. What Clients Say
Feedback from a recent pelvic health workshop attendee
“I recently attended a pelvic health workshop with Emma at Ocean Flow Therapies, and it was genuinely eye-opening. I finally understood how closely my breathing is connected to my pelvic health, and Emma explained everything in such a clear, supportive way. I came away with plenty of exercises, feeling informed, empowered, and so much more connected to my body. Highly recommended.”
